The establishment of the restaurant in 1345, during the reign of Philippe VI de Valois, is attested by the payment of a rent of 62 sols by Raoul Leprévos to the owners of the premises, the priory of Saint-Lô and the Community of the Daughters of God.
On May 30, 1431, the restaurateur of the time, a certain Raoul Baudry, could watch from the windows of the tavern on Place du Vieux-Marché the execution of Joan of Arc.
